I have a cat, female, 7 years old who was diagnosed with hepatitis and jaundice. They found the root cause why she has gotten sick in the first place, was liver flukes. Now its chronic fibrosing cholangitis, moderate to severe, with moderate bile duct hyperplasia and lipid/non-lipid vacuolar change. Pancreas is within normal limits. What can help?
Treatment with a dewormer for the liver flukes would be important in this case. You may want to also consider starting her on Inulin-PK to help prevent further infection of internal parasites. You would have her on this supplement for 3 months, then off for 3 months alternating throughout the year. As for her symptoms, first we recommend Milk Thistle to help support her liver. Milk Thistle is an excellent liver support, even many veterinarians who don’t usually deal with herbal medicine recommend it for liver health. The Turmeric would also be a good choice to help bring down the inflammation in her body. It is full of antioxidants and healing properties. It is great for over-all health, but also specifically for the liver. These two supplements would be best given for the rest of her life to help support her damaged liver.
