My 10 yr. old cat developed a cough yesterday. He has congestive heart failure and hyperthyroid condition. Do you have meds she can take for both problems?

Cats with heart failure don’t usually cough as it is a major symptom of heart failure in dogs, but not cats. Chest x-rays can help determine this. Hyperthyroidism can be quite tough on the heart. It causes the heart rate to be quite elevated, and this can cause a heart murmur. Often times, once the thyroid is brought under control, this heart murmur can correct itself. (Though it may not always). We do have some supplements that can be helpful for your kitty. Resthyro can help to balance the thyroid function and alleviate some of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, like elevated heart rate and blood pressure. The Hearty Heart would be a good choice as well to help support the heart through the stress that the hyperthyroidism is putting on it.  Multi Essentials would also be helpful in filling any nutritional voids your kitty may be experiencing. Hyperthyroidism causes the whole body to run in ‘fast forward’. This means that food is not processed as well as it should be in the body, and your kitty does not receive the full benefits of the nutrients in the food. Multi Essentials is a herbal multivitamin that can help aid digestion and increase energy.
