My cat is 11 years old and has been experiencing a skin condition, two ear infections, continuous chin acne, has red swollen eyes, has had an eye ulcer, and has lost hair around her chin and nose. Are you able to make any recommendations?

It is hard to determine what the cause is for these symptoms, it could be allergies or possibly a virus-related issue as well. It could also be due to some type of irritant that your kitty is exposed to. Keep in mind if you’ve changed any laundry detergent or some household cleaning products maybe. Essential oil diffusers could also affect your kitty. All these things and more are possible irritants to the skin, so it's best to rule those out.

Chin acne is often caused by bacteria that collects on food dishes. It's especially important to use either stainless steel or ceramic dishes, as plastic dishes can set off flares of chin acne.

As for herbs, they may benefit from a few different supplements. Felimm helps to prevent and fight infection, both bacterial and fungal. It also helps the body to fight viruses. You will see in the link it talks a lot about FIV and FeLV, but those are not its only uses.

We also recommend Stimmune to help support the immune system and help to regulate the histamine response in the body. Our two topicals are the Echo Gold for ear infections and Ey Eas to help with eye infection and inflammation.

Please do not use the Ey Eas if there is an existing corneal ulcer or if you suspect there may be one until your veterinarian gives it the all clear.
